FCC APPLICATIONS

Online Notice

Licensees are now required to post public notices regarding FM translator renewal filings on a website (in lieu of publishing in a newspaper).  The FCC requires online posting on one of the following websites in descending order of priority:

  1. FM Translator’s website or the website of the commonly owned primary Station
  2. Licensee’s website (Lazer Licenses, LLC)
  3. Licensee’s parent entity’s website (Lazer Broadcasting)
  4.    Publicly accessible website – meaning a website that is:  (a) publicly accessible without any registration or payment requirements, or any other requirement that the user provide information, or response to a survey or questionnaire to access the website; and (b) that is locally targeted to the station’s community of license (e.g., local government Internet website, local community bulletin board Internet website, state broadcasters’ association Internet website, etc.).

Since you have confirmed that Lazer Broadcasting has an active website, you must include on the home page of the Lazer Broadcasting website a conspicuous link or tab labeled “FCC Applications”.  The “FCC Applications” link or tab must link directly to a page containing only the online notice text (text provided below) and an indication of the date on which the page was most recently updated.

(In future, to the extent that there are no pending applications requiring online public notice, the landing page should be updated to indicate that there are no pending applications subject to the posting requirement.  This landing page must include the date when it was last updated.)

The online notice may be posted no earlier than the date of release of the acceptance public notice for the application, and not later than five (5) business days following release of the acceptance public notice for the application.  I will confirm to you when the FCC notices comes out.

The online text must be posted on the website for a minimum of 30 consecutive days.  At the end of the 30-day period the text should be removed and the landing page updated to say there are no currently pending applications subject to the posting requirement (unless of course there is/are other applications subject to online public notice postings) and the date the site was updated should be updated to the date the text is removed.
